Conference Talk / Sent Oct. 8, 2018

Hey everyone! Hi! How did you like conference? Holy moly, I loved it so much! It was so great! I have really learned to love and appreciate conference since I started my mission. I hope that you can all appreciate it too. It is a HUGE blessing that people all around the world can listen to the prophet speak at the same time. Even some of King Benjamin's people had to wait for their version of the Liahona magazine to come out to hear the talk, and they were even there, just too far away. We are so blessed! That being said, conference put me in preaching mood, so I decided to share some of my thoughts with all of you today.  First off, wow, we are still receiving lots of revelation. That's awesome. I loved both of President Nelson's announcements, about church and about the name of the Church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that is. From what I've heard, it seems like people all around the world have been working hard to be good ministers, so that...

Hey everyone! Wow, this has been a crazy week. Actually, lets see, I contacted, taught some lessons, and contacted some more, so it's actually been pretty normal, haha. But I was doing all those things in a new area with a new companion, so that's fun. And I'm in Point à Pitre now, which is basically a city just full of appartments. It's pretty cool. And it's pretty crazy how different the people are in this new area than my last area. I only moved like fifteen or twenty minutes away by car, but I'm definitely not in the rich neighborhoods anymore, haha. That's good though, it means the people here are way more open to us. It also means lots of people like to yell "les mormons" at us while they drive by in their cars, so that's fun, haha. I'm also with a Tahitian, so I'm learning French better now, and he's pretty fun. He also speaks pretty good english already, so it's pretty easy to ask him questions about French i...

Code Red! / Sent Sept. 17, 2018

Hey everyone! How are you? I hope you're doing great! This week was pretty interesting. We had hurricane Isaac come, so the government issued a "code red" for pretty much all of thursday, which means nobody was allowed to be outside. I guess it wasn't a hurricane, it was a tropical storm. It was also pretty much the dumbest thing of my entire life. Our doors were open the entire time, and it maybe rained for about 10 minutes total, and had a little bit of wind. I could see blue sky most the time too. Pretty much the only day I could have gone outside and not gotten burned to a crisp this week, and the government told us we couldn't leave the house. So we just sat inside all day looking at the nice weather and thinking about all the good we could be doing if we were allowed to go outside. Don't get me wrong, I'm super happy that nothing happened and that we didn't have to worry about a big storm, but it just seemed like a waste of time because we st...
