Transfers / Sent August 13, 2018

Hey everyone! Hey! How are you? I'm doing great. So, I'm sure you're all wondering what my transfer call is. Well, I thought I'd make you wait a little while, so I'll just write about it in the last paragraph of my email. Until you get all the way down there though you can enjoy the boring details of my week, haha. And don't even think about skipping the rest of my email and just reading the end to see my transfer call. Anyway, I'm just kidding, I'm gonna write about my transfer call here. I just wanted to see if I could get most of you to jump straight down to the bottom of my email, where you'll only find me telling you to go back and read the rest of the first paragraph. Ok, yeah, it's not that funny, but there's only so much I can do to make these emails interesting, haha. But yeah, I got transfered to Guadeloupe! So that's sweet! And the best part is that I'll be with Elder Anderson again! I don't know how I got that lu...

Not transfers week. / Sent August 6, 2018

Hey everyone! I guess I'll  get right to the point, but this past week was the last week of the transfer, and we were supposed to get transfer calls  on Saturday , but the zone leaders called us  on Thursday  and said that because of carnival in Grenada we won't get transfer calls until next week. Carnival is a HUGE thing in the carribean where everyone dresses up in costumes and dances in the street and stuff. We aren't allowed to go outside during it, and I guess it's during the same time as transfers on Grenada this week. So apparently their aren't any flights available to Grenada this week because of how crazy it is there, and I think President Fisher didn't want to do half of the transfers one week and half the next week, so everyone is waiting an extra week before transfers. There were a few of you who asked if I was getting transfered, and what my address will be, but I won't know until next week. Don't worry too much though, most of you hav...

Raena got baptized! / Sent July 30, 2018

Hey everyone!  Raëna got baptized! Yay! I also figured out how to type an e with the two dots above it like this ë, so I guess that makes two super exciting things that happened this week, haha. But really, the baptism was awesome. Raëna is so cool. She is an 18 year old Brazillian girl who met the missionaries a year ago and lost contact with them, but she told us she felt like God was giving her a second chance when we knocked on her door, and she progressed super fast. The baptismal service went great too. Another companionship was baptizing too, and we worked really hard to get lots of members there. There were more members at this baptism than any other one I've ever been too, and they all went up and talked to her afterwards, and congradulated her, and she just looked so happy. Elder Peterson baptized her, and I confirmed her, and it was the first time I've done that in French, so I was pretty nervous. It's amazing how much harder French is when you have an audi...

Don't Pet Mean Dogs / Sent July 23, 2018

Hey everyone! Hello! We had exchanges this week, and it was pretty good. Our last Mission President started having us bring both the other missionaries into our area for exchanges, so we had Elder Jouffray and Elder Chang koei chang (He's tahitian, not chinese, haha) with us on Friday. It was pretty good. I spent the day with Elder Chang Koei chang, and it was fun. But then I was with Elder Jouffray Saturday morning, and Elder Peterson and Elder Chang koei chang were together. And so what do they do together? They go to almost the exact same place that Elder Peterson's bike got stolen last transfer. Don't worry, they didn't have the bikes, but they did go to one house that had a really mean dog. I guess it didn't look too mean at first, but Elder Chang koei chang tried to pet it, and it bit him. It bit his finger and took his entire fingernail off. Ouch. I guess he just glared at the dog afterwards and it turned around and left, so that's kind of funny, bu...

Exshode vansh. / Sent July 16, 2018

Hey everyone! This week was pretty good. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but I can think of one funny story. I think I've already mentioned our ami (investigator) Raena, but we were teaching her and her sister this past week. They are Brazillian, but grew up here so they speak portugese and French. We were teaching the ten commandments, so we asked them to open up the exodus 20. In french that sounds like exode van. Because they both are brazillian, I guess they grew up reading the bible in portugese, and some of the names are different, so Raena's sister didn't understand where to go in the bible. We said "exode van" a couple times, but she still couldn't understand. Then Raena turned to her and said "exshode vansh" and she understood perfectly, haha. It was so funny. Me and Elder Peterson always make fun of Portugese, how it is just like spanish but with the "sh" sound all over, and it's so true. It sounds so funny.  Also, Fr...
