Raena got baptized! / Sent July 30, 2018

Hey everyone!

Raëna got baptized! Yay! I also figured out how to type an e with the two dots above it like this ë, so I guess that makes two super exciting things that happened this week, haha. But really, the baptism was awesome. Raëna is so cool. She is an 18 year old Brazillian girl who met the missionaries a year ago and lost contact with them, but she told us she felt like God was giving her a second chance when we knocked on her door, and she progressed super fast. The baptismal service went great too. Another companionship was baptizing too, and we worked really hard to get lots of members there. There were more members at this baptism than any other one I've ever been too, and they all went up and talked to her afterwards, and congradulated her, and she just looked so happy. Elder Peterson baptized her, and I confirmed her, and it was the first time I've done that in French, so I was pretty nervous. It's amazing how much harder French is when you have an audience and you are doing something you haven't done before. But it went fine. I'm just super happy with all of it, and happy to see how much it has made a difference in the life of Raëna.

I also promised my mom that I'd do a little one year update because, oh yeah, I hit my one year mark last week. So that's cool. One thing that I've definitly seen is how true Ether 12:27 is. And before you all get happy that my weaknesses have become strengths, that's not really the part of the scripture I'm talking about. The part that people often look over is the first part that says that God will show you your weaknesses as you come unto Him. Let me tell you, that is very true, haha. I feel like I'm a much better missionary and person in general in many different ways than I was at the beginning of my mission, but as I've come closer to Christ he's definitly shown me my weaknesses too. My mission has been pretty humbling, and I'm so glad. I know that as I continue to come closer to Christ he will continue to help me strengthen my weaknesses, as well as help me always know what I can improve on next. So next time you are trying to come closer to Christ, and you just feel like you have lots of weaknesses, it's because you are closer to Christ, and He is helping you. He loves you, and He is always there for you. I know that's true. Have a great week everyone!
