Hello all!
Well, we're finally here. This is the last group email I'll ever send. Yay! I fly to Barbados tomorrow, and then home on Thursday! I'd love to tell you information about my homecoming talk, but all I know is that it'll be at 9 on Sunday morning. Also, there should be some sort of open house too. You are all invited, I just don't when it is, haha. My mom told me, but I kind of don't remember. I have lots of stuff going through my head right now.
Anyway, Marie Lyvie got baptized this week! It was so awesome! I was so excited. She is so amazing, and I'm so happy that she can now have the blessing of the gift of the holy ghost in her life. Oh man, I'm just so happy for her. It was the perfect ending for my mission. Well, it's not over yet, but it was the perfect last weekend. Well, it definitely wasn't the perfect last weekend either, but the baptism was perfect. Well, actually, there was lots of stress with that too. Ok, fine, there was still real life everywhere, not just perfectness, but the ordinance was perfectly performed, and that's all that matters.
Well, since it's my last week, I thought I'd maybe just send out a testimony for you all. Last night I was talking to my companion, and I told him how much the mission has changed me. And he said, "How have you changed." Well, that caught me by surprise. I had to think about that for a little bit. I am definitely the same person, but I think I am just a better version of myself. Through serving the Lord, God shows you your weaknesses so that you can become better. I feel like I've learned to know what really matters in life. Family and the Gospel are so important. I'm so excited to be with my family again. I also have had lots of lessons in patience during my mission. I didn't know that I was bad with that until God let me practice it, haha. That's just one example of how I've changed. But really, dedicated service to the Lord, whether as a missionary or in a calling in the church or just in your own family gives you the opportunity to change. That's another big thing I've learned.
But most importantly, God is our loving Heavenly Father, and Jesus is the Christ. They love us infinitely, and they will do everything they can to help us in this life and the next. Let them help you. They always will.
Well, I love you all! Have a great week!
Love, Elder Kerr
