Hey everyone!
Hey! I have a lot to write this week, so either buckle up or just scroll down to see if there are any pictures like you normally do.
Jennifer was baptized and confirmed this week!!! It was so cool! Like usuall, I'm struggling to download pictures this week, but hopefully I can get some to load. There was a big turnout, and President and Sister Herrington, (my mission president and his wife) were here for zone conference, so they got to be there for the baptism too! Jennifer just seemed so happy and so ready, it was great. I know I haven't talked about her much, but she is about 30, and is the cousin to sophoni, the girl who got baptized my first day here. It has been a long and hard road for her to get to this point, but she did it, and I've never seen her happier. It really does show that even though trials will come, the gospel makes you happier in the end. And during the trials. One thing that was funny is that there was a frog in the baptismal font that we had to get out before we filled it up. But then when we did fill it up, we filled it all the way to the overflow drain on the side, and three more frogs came out of that hole and started swimming around in the font! It was super funny. But we managed to get them all out in time for the baptism. Overall the whole experience was just great. Oh, and my companion Elder Griffin got to baptize her, which was super awesome. He is really close to that family because he helped either reactivate or baptize a few of them, so they all love him and it was sweet that he got to baptize her.
We also had zone conference this week, which was awesome! This is the second zone conference that I didn't have to take a plane to get to, haha. All the other ones we had to fly to, so it was nice to stay here. But president Herrington had some super great advice for us, mostly about working with members, and inviting people to be baptized more, so we are excited to get out and start being even better missionaries. Really, after every zone conference it seems like missionary work is so simple and easy, because we just learned all the secrets. Then we go out and try it and it's a little bit easier said than done, haha, but it still feels great and is super helpful.
We also had 8 investigators at church this week! We probably average 2 a week, so this week was awesome! We taught 6 teenage girls saturday night, and committed them all to come to chruch, and they did! It was so cool! Most of them really loved it too. And total at church we had 127 people! We are lucky if we get in the 90s, so this week was awesome! I don't really know why there were so many this week, but President Herrington was here, so maybe it was that. Anyway, there was hardly enough room for everyone, so it was awesome!
And last thing for this email. We had a sweet Pday activity this week! Those of you who know me really well will apreciate this a lot more, but we hiked up to this cool tower thing that had a little grass field that you can see the ocean from, and we had a yoga session led by the one and only elder Kerr! It was so cool! I just led my zone in yoga for about half an hour, with the ocean in the background! Yeah, we know how to have a good time. I'll try to send some pictures of that too.
And that was my week! I hope you all had fun weeks too! I love you all, and I know the church is true!
Love, Elder Kerr
