Zone Conference but not really . . .Sent January 29th, 2018

Hey everyone! How are you all? I hope you are doing well. This week was a little crazy because I had to go to Guadaloupe for legalization and visa stuff while my zone was in Martinique for zone conference. So I spent a night in Guadaloupe, and a night in Martinique this week, and the rest of the time I was here in French Guiana. Also, I've been on my mission for six months already. That went by fast. Because of that, I thought of some cool things I've done on my mission that I could write about. Kind of like stuff I've done by the numbers or something like that.  Since I have started my mission I have: Been on 16 airplanes. Been in 6 countries/French territories. (Not including the US). Had 5 companions, all who have been taller than me. (But have they been cooler or better looking? Doubtful.) I have served in three diffirent areas, which have also all been in different countries. St. Vincent, St. Martin, and French Guiana. Built one roof...

"Remember when you mentioned chicken nuggets and then I threw up? That was so funny." Sent January 22, 2018

Hey everyone! Wow. This week was quite the rollar coaster. It was super cool, but also super hard. I felt like I finally knew what I was doing when I was in St. Martin, and now I feel useless half the time. I just want to be able to talk in French right now, but I guess I'll have to be patient and work for it instead, haha. That actually does remindme of one miracle I had this week. I fasted at the beginning of the week that I would be able to work hard here, and also so that I could have the gift of tounges so I could communicate better. And after that day my understanding has improved a ton! I still don't understand a ton, but if we are contacting someone or having a lesson, and if I am really trying to pay attention, then I can understand most of what is being said. But if I start to let my mind wander, then I get lost. It is cool that I can see God helping me when I do my part too. Fasting works! I suppose I should also explain the heading of this email, haha. French is Weird! Sent January 15, 2018

Hey everyone! So I'm officially in a French country! It's pretty cool here! I'm also on a French keyboard, so to ,ake it easier on myself I'll just do an email with lots of short random things from this week. I left St. Martin on Wednesday and got here  on Saturday . I was in martinique the rest of the time, and that was a party. My new companion is named Elder Griffin, and he is great! I'm driving a stick shift. All those crappy hours working at the cemetary this past summer are finally paying off! Also, the roads here are way bigger than the roads on the islands, so it is a lot less stressful learning stick here than it would have been there. French is hard, haha. But I'm trying my best and hopefully I will improve fast! We went door contacting for a couple hours last night, with no success almost the whole time. But my companion had a lot of faith and said a miracle was gonna happen. And the very last door in the building we were knocking opene...

French Guiana Here I Come! -Sent January 8, 2018

Bonjour! Hey! Guess who is finally going to a French country! This guy! I mean elder. Anyway, I'm going to French Guiana this week, and I'm super pumped! I'm gonna be with the zone leader there, and he is sweet. I've met him once before when I went to Guadeloupe for zone conference, and he is a super obedient and diligent missionary, so I'm excited to work with him. He also has been out for over a year, so his French is probably really good by now, so hopefully I can learn fast. But of course, you can't ever go to a new area without wishing your old one goodbye. I've been in St. Martin for two transfers, but I still feel like I just got here and I don't want to leave yet! I love all the people here, and it'll be hard to say goodbye. I also won't be here for Duwan's baptism, which is sad because he is the first investigator that I've found, taught, and put on date for baptism. But he is ready and it'll be a great baptism and a gr...

Happy New Year - Sent Jan. 2nd, 2018

Hey! This week was pretty good. It was a little crazy because we had Christmas on Monday and then P-day on Wednesday, so it was hard to get a lot done, but there was some funny stuff that I want to share, haha. First off, I went on exchanges this week. I went to the other apartment, and they have a little bit of a rat problem. They have been leaving out poison though. When we got home that night, there was a big dead rat on the floor. Or so we thought. It turns out it wasn't dead. It was just mostly dead. Elder Caraes said normally they just will sweep the rat onto a dust pan and throw it out, but every time we touched this one with the broom it would start to squirm like crazy! It couldn't walk, but at one point it even started rolling across the room! Gross! Luckily Elder Caraes filmed me as I was sweeping it out of the house, and we were both screaming like little girls the whole time. It was super funny. Two more quick things. This has probably happe...
