Merry Day After Boxing Day!

Image
Hey everyone!  I guess everyone was feeling nice during Christmas, because I had about twice as many emails as usual, and I used most of my time reading them, so this email will be a little smaller this week. You know, probably. I never really know how long it'll be, haha. And I'm emailing today because the email shop was closed yesterday because it was boxing day! Boxing day is a huge thing here, and so everyone was home and didn't really want to have us interrupt their time to relax and do nothing, haha.  I guess I'll say what Christmas was like. I convinced most the other Elders in my zone to go running with me Christmas morning, and we all went on a super hard long run with tons of hills, so it was basically the best ever. I was dying. I was so happy, haha. And then we just chilled for a little bit and then got to see our families! That was so fun! I saw Braden too, which was sweet. I noticed he bashed my French skills a little bit in his email. Hmm. At...

It's So Cold! Sent Dec. 17, 2017

Hey everyone! So I guess I'll start out by explaining the heading of this email. We were teaching Duwan the other night, and it had just barely started to cool down. Like, that day was super hot. We were dying all day long. But we teach him in the evenings, and the sun had gone down and it was finally a good temperature. It was the first time that day that I felt comfortable outside. Anyway, we are teaching Duwan, and he is sitting there with his arms folded, and he is SHIVERING! He was so cold! It was so funny! He was like, "How are you guys not freezing!?" And we were like. "How are you cold!?" It was so funny! It was probably like 80 degrees outside with a nice little breeze, and he was so cold. He survived the rest of the lesson, but as soon as we finished he ran inside and grabbed a jacket. Hopefully I don't get too used to the weather here, or else I'm gonna die my first winter back home, haha. And on another note, we asked Duwan to get baptiz...

Soccer - Sent Dec. 11, 2017

St. Martin Zone Conference Hey Everyone,  I'm kind of getting bored of writing a long email each week, so I'm just gonna say tons of random stuff about my life today to change it up. It might be kind of fun. Or maybe not. Either way it's different, so I like it! I won a soccer game 8-0 at our church's "fun night" on Friday. I had a rematch today and lost. bummer. Our phone is a brick phone and types the same way my old flip phone did, and everyone is way jealous of my speed typing abilities. I knew that phone would pay off. A member fed us this week! I was offered weed by someone. I tried to give him a Word of Wisdom pamphlet. We both denied.  We drive a car. I probably know the same amount of French now that I did when I left the MTC, haha. I cook a lot of pasta. My toothbrush is pink. My toothpaste is white. So are my teeth. We got six new investigators this week. None of them...

CHRISTMAS TIME! Sent Dec. 4th

Hello! I need to come up with a better way to greet all of you. I also say hey everyone or something lame like that. I guess hello is even more lame, but it has an exclamation mark, and I am imagining me saying it all excited like, so hopefully that helps. I'd say bonjour, but I don't want anyone to be confused because they don't understand French.  Well, this email might be a bit shorter than normal, because I can't think of much to write. We worked hard this week and got a few new investigators, and taught some great lessons. I don't know if I've talked about him before, but we have been teaching a 20 year old named D. who is super cool. He definitely needs to pretty much change his whole life if he ever wants to get baptized, but he has great questions, and the spirit is always super strong when we teach him. His faith is growing little by little, and a few lessons ago he said he can recognize the spirit when we teach him, and believes that it's ...
