Elder Cook

Hey everyone!

This week was great, but also felt super short. And this week is the last week of the transfer already! I'll know if I'm staying or going next week, but I think I'll stay. It would be kind of crazy to be in three different areas my first three transfers, but who knows! It would be cool, but I'd also be super happy to stay here for another transfer. I feel like we are just starting to get in the groove of things and making some progress, so it would be nice. But either way, I'm excited to know what will happen! 

We had a pretty cool spiritual experience this week that had some sweet miracles involved. On Wednesday we were at an electronics store because Elder Ackley wants to buy a voice recorder, and while we were there, a random guy came up to us and was super happy to find us. It turns out he was here to help fix the internet at the church so we could watch a broadcast of Elder Cook from the Quorum of the Twelve who was in Guadalupe and speaking to all the French speaking islands. He didn't know where the church was or some other information he needed so know, and we were able to help him. But once we couldn't help him anymore, we had to call the old branch president to help us. And it just happened that as we called him he was driving past the store we were in, so he stopped and came over and helped us. Then he was able to take the other guy to the church and help set everything up. There was still lots of problems with the internet though, and we couldn't get the broadcast to work until 45 minutes after it started. But there were other speakers before Elder Cook, and we got it started right when he started talking. It was awesome and just what the members needed to hear. But looking back at all the miracles that happened in order for it to work, we realized just how much Heavenly Father helped us get this to work. This was the only week that we had P day on wednesday, the only time we went into that one store, and it just happened to be right when that  guy who needed our help went into that store. It's so cool! Miracles are so real!

We also had the chance to help build someone's roof this week! We have actually been helping a few times over the past few weeks, but we finally started nailing the metal roofing up on the top, and it looks so good. It is so fun to be up there building a roof, especially because none of us know what we are doing, haha. We are given guidance from pros every once in a while when they pass  by, but we did all the building. It actually is turning out pretty good. We are almost done with the front half, and we still need to figure out what we are doing with the back half,  but so far so good. I put sun screen on my face, but not my arms though, and I got so burned! I looked way funny without my shirt on when we got back home. There was a super funny line on my arm where my skin just went from red to white. It's pretty much better now, but it was way funny. 

Well, that's all I have for this week. Do I say that at the end of all my emails? I never thought about that, but now I feel like I always write that same sentence at the end of all my emails. Haha, oh well. Anyway, have a good week!
