Salut!
So I learned something interesting this week. Salut is a way to say hi in French, but it also means salvation. So we teach Le plan du Salut, which is the plan of salvation, but I guess it could also mean the plan of hi. Kind of weird, but funny. The language just keeps getting better and better. It amazes me how much I have learned, but also how far I have to go. Even though I learn more stuff every day, I also learn how much I don't know. But I work hard and pray every day for God's help, and even though it is hard, I know I can do it if I continue to do those two things.

I have a spiritual experience I want to share that kind of goes along with learning the language. I was taking notes on a video we were watching on Sunday, and I couldn't think of the word I was looking for. It wasn't even in French, I was writing in English. Has that ever happened to you, you just can't think of the word you want to use? Anyway, that happened to me, and so I said a quick prayer that I could know the word I was looking for. But even though we have been challenged to say all our prayers in French, and that's what I've been doing most the time, I said this prayer in English because it was easier and faster. And when I finished, the only word that came to my mind was 'you idiot, say your prayer in French this time.' So I said it again, but in French, and as soon as I said amen the word I was trying to find came into my head. It was pretty cool. The thing that amazed me is that not only did Heavenly Father answer that tiny prayer, but he helped me learn and grow in the process, and remind my to do what I have been challenged to do. I know that God listens to and answers all of our prayers, even the tiny ones. He might not answer right away like He did for me on Sunday, but He does listen and He does answer them. I know that that's true, and I want to remind you all to pray a little bit more often. Or, in classic missionary fashion, will you pray more often this week?

Something else cool happened on Sunday. Elder Bednar came and spoke to us. It was a surprise, and it was sweet! He did a question answer session with his wife, so someone in the audience would ask a question, and he and his wife would answe their questions. It was pretty cool. It was also funny how everyone reacted when they said he was coming. Imagine the reaction of One Direction going to a girls camp. Actually, I don't even know if One Direction is cool anymore, but I think you get what I'm saying. Everyone freaked out and cheered and clapped and basically went crazy. But don't worry, this was before he came in. We were reverent when he actually came in.

The rest of the week has been pretty normal. The schedule is pretty similar every day, with just the order of the stuff moving around a little bit. I have still been playing volleyball every day, and we are all getting kind of good. We have had some really great volley's.... and some terrible ones. But it's fun and we all just laugh when we do bad. And our lesson's with our investigators have gotten better and better. If you are going on a mission soon, close your ears for this next part. (whispering ) the investigators we teach are actually our teachers, but the lessons still seem really real and it is still cool. But it is kind of funny that they start the lesson, then leave and go into a different room, and then we go knock on the door and pretend like they are the investigator. (Not whispering anymore) Ok, you can unplug your ears now. Oh wait, this is an email, you should have closed your eyes, not your ears. Whoops, my bad.

Well, sorry for the bad humor at the end, but hey, you aren't reading these emails to know what happens at the MTC, you are reading them because you miss me. Or because you miss Braden and are reading the wrong email. Either way, I love you all, and miss you all! Have a great week, pray often, read your scriptures, and just be nice people in general!

Love, Elder Kerr
