Conference! / Sent April 8, 2019

Hello!

Well, most of you probably know this, but General Conference was this weekend. And it was AWESOME! I love listening to conference so much! The spirit was so strong, and I felt like I learned so much, and also got reminded of many things that I need to do and need to do better. It is such a blessing to have a prophet on the earth today to help us with that. I want to encourage all of you to read and watch the conference talks again and again, and to
study them. The Chruch doesn't do general conferences just to give us a spiritually uplifting weekend, and then have us keep doing what we've always done. It is so that we can receive counsel and advice, and then change. And like we learned this weekend, changing to come closer to Christ is repentance, and we need to repent every day. I know that if you keep studying the talks and applying the things in them, you will see miracles and many blessings in your lives. 

Also, I have a kind of funny story to tell about my very charitable companions. So I live in a house with four missionaries, and yesterday morning all of them were wearing long sleeve shirts, and I was wearing my short sleeved shirt. So thanks to their example, I decided to change into my long sleeve one before going to the church for conference. But when I went to get my long sleeve shirt to iron it, everyone else came to beat me to it. They wanted to iron my shirt for me. But I didn't want them to have to do that. So I grabbed my shirt, but then Elder Rytting (who is a lot stronger than me) picked me up, and Elder Newman grabbed my shirt and started to iron it. For the next few minutes I was basically wrestling with Elder Rytting to try to get to the iron so I could iron it myself, but he was trying to keep me away from the iron so that Elder Newman could iron it. Unfortunately, Elder Rytting kept me from getting to the iron, but I put up a pretty good fight. It was super fun and funny, and it was nice to see how much they wanted to serve me, haha.

Hello! Well, here I am, finally where all of you thought I've been this whole time. Barbados. It's pretty cool here. Also, the keyboards are normal english keyboards again, so here I am struggling to type again, haha. So this might not be a super long email, but I'll try to give you a little overview of this past week, because it was pretty weird. I left Guadeloupe on Tuesday, and got to Barbados at around 8pm. We have a pretty big apartment, or a small house more accurately, because we share it with the zone leaders, but there were 8 people sleeping there because everyone is moving around for transfers and waiting for flights or companions and stuff. Then Wednesday we mostly were driving to and from the airport dropping people off and picking people up, and then that evening we got to be at the mission home with the missionaries going home, so we ate and chilled with them, and had a little testimony meeting. "You're paying for that!" / Sent Sept. 10, 2018

Hello! Hey, how are you all? I hope you're all doing great! This week was pretty slow, but still good. I guess some weeks are like that. But anyway, something kind of scary and interesting happened this week. We were contacting a lady, and it was actually going pretty good, but she was one of those people who can just talk forever. I'm not kidding, there are some people here who will just talk all day long about n'importe quoi (I'm not really sure how to say that in english, haha. Just basically random stuff that's not important.) Anyway, at the end of the contact she just went off and started talking about so much random stuff about her life and God and her family, and it was good, but she was probably talking for almost 10 minutes straight without letting us say anything. Hey everyone! I'm just gonna send pictures this week instead of writing about my week. I'll just tell you that we only managed to teach two of the 15 lessons we had planned, so we did a lot of contacting, haha. Those two lessons were really good though. So was the contacting.
