Weeding ananas and juggling machettes / Sent Oct. 29, 2018
Hello everyone!
I decided to actually grab your attention today by making a cool subject line for my email. I guess part of its in French, but oh well. Anyway, I'll just jump right into that story. So I was on an exchange with elder Jeppesen, and we saw some guy weeding a little field of some plant. We asked if we could help and he said yes. Turns out the plant was pineapples. I've never seen that before. I didn't even realize they grew like that. It was pretty cool. But the top of the pineapples are super spiny, so to weed close to them the guy was using a big machete. And you know what I thought of when I saw that, haha. So I asked if I could see it, and then I grabbed two rocks and juggled them with the machete. It was pretty fun. Elder Jeppesen thought it was funny, but the guy we were helping just seemed confused, haha.
Also, my family shared something with me this week that I'd like to share with all of you. As many of you know, my dad hit his head really hard five years ago, and although he's healed a lot throughout the past five years, he's never been able to be around lots of noise since then because it really hurts his head. He hasn't been able to go movies, my orchestra concerts, my brother's band concerts (although that one might be a blessing, haha) or any other thing like that. But before my mission my family made a chart with 200 boxes, and we decided that we wouldn't just wait for my dad to be healed, but we would take the prophet's advice and do family history to recieve blessings of health from heaven. My family finished the chart last week, and this weekend they went to Disneyland. My dad said that for the first time in five years he was able to spend the entire day with our family and have fun with them and not feel terrible pain from all the noise. That was the first time in FIVE YEARS that he was able to do that, and it was the week after we finished our family history goal to help him. That is a HUGE blessing for me and my family. I just want to testify that God does hear and answer our prayers, and that the advice from prophets really can help us. As we do everything we can do to recieve answers from our prayers, God will help us in ways we can't even imagine. I know that miracles are real, and that those who seek answers with faith will recieve them, even if it takes five years. Thanks to all of you who have been praying for my dad too! We really have felt your prayers!
Well, I guess that's all for this week. Thanks again, and have a great one!
Love, Elder Kerr
