Random Stuff / Sent Oct. 22, 2018

Hey everyone!

Lots of cool stuff happened this week, including my 20th birthday! I don't really want to spend a long time writing about all of it though, haha, so I'll just talk a little bit about a bunch of random stuff that happened this week.

Monday night my companion was cutting his hair, and afterwards he asked for help around the ears. I thought that he had left the guard on the razor, but he took it off, so I ended up cutting a small chunk above his ear 0mm short instead of 13mm short. Whoops. He was very nice and forgiving, but I felt so bad. There was no way to hide it, and it looks pretty bad. On the bright side, I doubt anyone will ever ask me to cut their hair again!

To make that story even better, the next day we had zone conference, and Elder Gonzales, in the quorum of the 70, was there. That was cool. He taught us how to contact better by finding common ground, and how to invite people to change better too. He also told Elder Bennett to go to a barber next time, haha.

It was my birthday Saturday! I opened a package from my family in the morning, and during planning our mission president called us and sang me happy birthday! The rest of the day was pretty normal, but that evening Elder Peterson and all of the companionships in my zone either called or texted me to say happy birthday! It was so nice! I guess one companionship spread the news to everyone else that it was my birthday, but It made me feel so loved, and totally made my day. Moral of the story, if you know if someone's birthday, call or text them! It's a small thing, but it really makes a difference.

Hello! Well, here I am, finally where all of you thought I've been this whole time. Barbados. It's pretty cool here. Also, the keyboards are normal english keyboards again, so here I am struggling to type again, haha. So this might not be a super long email, but I'll try to give you a little overview of this past week, because it was pretty weird. I left Guadeloupe on Tuesday, and got to Barbados at around 8pm. We have a pretty big apartment, or a small house more accurately, because we share it with the zone leaders, but there were 8 people sleeping there because everyone is moving around for transfers and waiting for flights or companions and stuff. "You're paying for that!" / Sent Sept. 10, 2018

Hello! Hey, how are you all? I hope you're all doing great! This week was pretty slow, but still good. I guess some weeks are like that. But anyway, something kind of scary and interesting happened this week. We were contacting a lady, and it was actually going pretty good, but she was one of those people who can just talk forever. I'm not kidding, there are some people here who will just talk all day long about n'importe quoi (I'm not really sure how to say that in english, haha. Just basically random stuff that's not important.) Anyway, at the end of the contact she just went off and started talking about so much random stuff about her life and God and her family, and it was good, but she was probably talking for almost 10 minutes straight without letting us say anything. Pictures / Sent August 27, 2018

Hey everyone! I'm just gonna send pictures this week instead of writing about my week. I'll just tell you that we only managed to teach two of the 15 lessons we had planned, so we did a lot of contacting, haha. Those two lessons were really good though. So was the contacting.
