Baptism! / Sent Nov. 26, 2018

Hello!

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing great. We sure are down here in Guadeloupe. This was a pretty crazy week, but good crazy, so let me tell you about it. We baptized Ruben's, a 15 year old we found a few months ago! And yeah, his name is actually Ruben's, spelled exactly like that. It's a good thing he's from a French country, because I don't know how to show that he has something in English. Ruben's'? Ruben's's? Ruben''s? Ruben's's's's's's's's's's's's's? I dont know. It's way easier in French. But anyway, his baptismal date was for this Saturday, and on wednsday we had a lesson with him, and his mom told us that he wasn't ready for the baptism and that she wanted him to wait a few more months. Well, he might be a little weird, but come on, he's 15. I don't know a single 15 year old who isn't a little weird and dissobedient sometimes at home. Except for you Megan, I know you're perfect. But he know's all the doctrine really well and is super well integrated with the young men, so we didn't know what to do. But we fixed another lesson with her for the next day with the branch president too. We went and the Branch president just preached for probably 45 minutes about how much youth need the gospel and how much it'll help Ruben's, and it was sweet! She obviously felt the spirit, and decided that he should get baptized saturday! Yay!

Ok, I need to start another paragraph just so my mom doesn't make fun of me, for not knowing how to use paragraphs. But the baptism went really well too. It was young men who gave the talks and baptized him, and the spirit was super strong. It was sweet. I'm really excited for him, and I'm hoping we can start to teach his mom too. That'd be really great for both of them. 

We also had zone conference this week, and that was great. President Fisher is an inspired man. I always feel like I learn so much at zone conferences, and the spirit is always so strong! He really feels like the work is going to be picking up here in Guadeloupe, and we've already seen it moving faster the past month or so.

Hello! Well, here I am, finally where all of you thought I've been this whole time. Barbados. It's pretty cool here. Also, the keyboards are normal english keyboards again, so here I am struggling to type again, haha. So this might not be a super long email, but I'll try to give you a little overview of this past week, because it was pretty weird. I left Guadeloupe on Tuesday, and got to Barbados at around 8pm. We have a pretty big apartment, or a small house more accurately, because we share it with the zone leaders, but there were 8 people sleeping there because everyone is moving around for transfers and waiting for flights or companions and stuff. Then Wednesday we mostly were driving to and from the airport dropping people off and picking people up, and then that evening we got to be at the mission home with the missionaries going home, so we ate and chilled with them, and had a little testimony meeting. Hello! Hey, how are you all? I hope you're all doing great! This week was pretty slow, but still good. I guess some weeks are like that. But anyway, something kind of scary and interesting happened this week. We were contacting a lady, and it was actually going pretty good, but she was one of those people who can just talk forever. I'm not kidding, there are some people here who will just talk all day long about n'importe quoi (I'm not really sure how to say that in english, haha. Just basically random stuff that's not important.) Anyway, at the end of the contact she just went off and started talking about so much random stuff about her life and God and her family, and it was good, but she was probably talking for almost 10 minutes straight without letting us say anything. Hey everyone! I'm just gonna send pictures this week instead of writing about my week. I'll just tell you that we only managed to teach two of the 15 lessons we had planned, so we did a lot of contacting, haha. Those two lessons were really good though. So was the contacting.
