"Are You Sitting Down?" / Sent June 18, 2018

Hey everyone,

This email might be a little unorganized, but oh well. First off, the title of my email is never what you want to hear when you answer the phone. But it's what I heard on Tuesday during our exchange when Elder Peterson called me. The conversation went a little bit like this:
Me: Hey, what's up?
Elder Peterson: Not much. Are you sitting down?
Me: No..... why?
Elder Peterson: You might want to sit down.
(There were no chairs around, so I leaned against the stair rail)
Me: Oh no, what happened?
Elder Peterson:___________

Ok, I'm not gonna put what he said in this email. I'm just gonna leave you on that cliff hanger, and I'll put what he said in the next email. But really, it's crazy, and it literally changed the rest of the week. Actually, most of the next transfer will be really different too. Assuming we're both still down here together next transfer. And ok, I'm not actually that mean, I can't make you wait until next week. But I had you for a minute there! Hopefully I did anyway. Well, back to the story, what he said next is "my bike got stollen." Yep. So that's a bummer. So we've been walking the rest of the week, which is a lot slower than biking. Also, it's been raining almost every day the entire transfer, which is the worst when you are on a bike because you can't stay dry. But when you're walking, it's a lot easier to stay dry. But the weather literally changed the second we started walking, and it hasn't rained on us at all, but has been hotter than it has been the whole transfer. Oh well, at least I'm getting a good burn that kind of looks like a tan in the right lighting.

One last thing I want to put in here. The other day we were walking to the church, and we walked past a white guy who started speaking to us in English. That doesn't happen every day. Actually, I don't know if that's ever happened before. Anyway, it turns out he's Swiss, and was super nice. We then saw him later that same day at the same spot, at the park the next day, and on the road the day after that. We told him that we are planning on going to Kourou, which is about an hour drive from where we are, to go to the space museum, and he offered to give us a ride becuase he was going down there anyway. We couldn't get a ride from him because we were leaving earlier in the morning, so we just said goodbye. But then at the space museum today, we were in the gift shop at the end, and he was there! It was crazy! He is only here on vacation, so we can't really teach him, but it is super cool that we saw him so many times. I don't know why I wrote about that, I just thought it was cool. Also, at the space museum me and Elder Peterson made a super cool lego rocket, and there were lots of kids there on field trips, and they all thought we were professional lego builders working there, haha.

Well, that's about all I can think of for this week, but I love you all, and have a great one!

Love, Elder Kerr

The hand I told you about last week that I carved. Look out dad, there's a new woodworker in the family.

Breadfruit. We cooked and ate it. It's good.
