I Held Hands With Two Men

We found this costume in a closet at the church.
Hey everyone,
So there was one thing I really wanted to share about this week..... But I forgot what it was. Whoops, haha. So I'll just explain the heading of this email, and hopefully that other thing will come back to me. I was on exchanges with Elder Jouffray this week, and it was good. We were contacting just before lunch time, and these two guys from English Guiana invited us in, and we taught them a little lesson. I don't know how interested they really were, but they were really nice. And one of them was making chicken curry, and it smelled super good. After the lesson they offered to feed us, so we obviously accepted. Contacts don't randomly offer lunch like that often, so it's too good to pass up. Plus, it smelled really good. They got the food ready for us, and then we asked if we could pray for the food. They said of course, and then just reached their hands out for us to hold during the prayer. So me and Elder Jouffray were just holding hands with two men we met half an hour earlier while we prayed. It was pretty great. The chicken curry was super good too.
Oh yeah, now I remember what I wanted to say. I crashed on my bike for the first time this week. Don't worry mom, I'm ok. I just scrapped up my hands, but other than that I'm fine. It's not too bad, but there was blood and dirt, and it looked pretty painful when it happened. So we asked someone if we could go inside and use their sink to wash my hands, and she said yes. I went in and washed my hands, and another lady came and asked to see them. When she saw them she gave me the most motherly look of concern I think I've seen since I've been on my mission, haha. I just told her c'est la vie, and laughed, and then we left. Then we went to a members hous for another appointment that night, and when the member saw it she freaked out just a little bit, and ran and got her husband to help me. So he got some alchohol and bandaids and had me clean it all up and put band aids on it. So moral of the story, don't worry about me mom. There are lots of moms here who will help me out if I get hurt.
I'm sorry, I can't really think of a spiritual story to share this week, so I'll just bear my testimony. I know that this church is true, and I see God's hand in my life every day, when I look for it. That's the trick. His hand is always there, you just need to look for it. And as you do, you will truly see how much he loves you and wants to help you. I've been very humbled by how many of the people live here, and I never realized just how blessed I was. We visited a less active member yesterday who has an 18 year old son and a pregnent wife who is pretty sick. He couldn't afford to live in his house anymore, so he went and built a new house in a swamp, which is pretty much made out of lots of old boards and pieces of wood. He is living there now, has no running water, no job, barely a real house, and a really sick wife. We visited him yesterday, and he was very positive and I never heard him complain once, but he just talked about the different blessings he has in his life. It was super humbling, and I was super glad I was able to see that, because I needed a little bit of humbling I think. I encourage all of you to look around and start to count you blessings a little bit more.
That was a little bit longer than I meant it to be, but I did manage to get a little story in there, so you're welcome. I love you all! Have a great week!
Love, Elder Kerr

There were little mustard containers with Pokemon on them, so we bought them and are using them as cups, haha.
