Zone Conference - Sent Nov. 15th
Hey everyone!
This week was pretty good! The past couple days were a little crazy with flying down to Guadeloupe for zone conference, so my brain is a little fried right now, but I'm doing great. There are only four missionaries on St. Martin right now, which is why we went to Guadeloupe for zone conference, but it was really fun because three of the people in my district at the MTC are there, so I got to see them again which was awesome! And not many people can say that they flew to a different country for zone conference, so that is kind of cool too. Tuesday night though we were all a little frustrated, because we felt like we wasted a couple days because we didn't do any proselyting, but then Elder McNaughtan pointed out that it was only wasted if we don't start using the new advice and stuff we learned at Zone conference. They fly us down there because it is so important, and if we learn and grow from it, then those days weren't wasted at all. So hopefully I can keep improving and doing better and better out here.
There were lots of small funny things that happened this past week because of me just being around a bunch of funny people, but I'll just share one. We were in the car waiting for Elder Steed and Elder Peterson, a couple of Elders in Guadaloup, to get to the car, and they were talking to the zone leader on the phone, but he was having a hard time explaining where the car was. So elder parks took the phone from the zone leader, and he described exactly where we were, and sounded super confident on the phone that they now knew exactly where we were. It was funny because of how fast and efficient he did it, but then as soon as he hung up he turned around and said, "I don't think they have any idea where we are." I laughed so hard. Yeah, I know, that's a super lame story, but it was funny in the moment and all I can think of sharing right now.
We also had a baptism on saturday! It was super cool! The other Elders here taught him and baptized him, but it was still super cool to meet him and see how strong his testimony was, and the baptism was super spiritual. The feeling you get when you see someone have as much joy and happiness as he did is just awesome. It makes you realize that no matter how many people don't listen to you, it is worth it if even just one does.
Well, that's really all I have to say today. Sorry that the email is a few days late, but as they say, better nate than lever Have a good week everyone!
Love, Elder Kerr
