Need Any Help?

Image
Hey Everyone, I'm not sure why I capitalized the word everyone, but I did, and it's too late to change now. Kind of. Don't put too much thought into what I just said. Well, anyway, this week was pretty good. The mission president came and visited us this week, and he went contacting with me and my companion yesterday evening. I was actually super stressed out, because he said he wanted to go to some lessons with us, but no matter how hard we tried we couldn't get any lessons set up for that time, so when we picked him up I had to tell him that we had no appointments, and that our only plan was to go contacting the rest of the night. Luckily he was super happy to do that, and it was actually great to have him with us, because he was really good at starting conversations with people, and he taught me a lot about how to start talking to people, and how to keep talking to people.  I was gonna tell my spiritual experience first, but that opening transitions really...

Parlez Vous What?

Bonjour! This week has been CRAZY!!! I don't even know where to start, so I'll start with tuesday morning, and maybe split this email up by day. Who knows, just be ready for lots of random details and not many well organized thoughts, haha. Oh, and I haven't really taken any pictures this week because I haven't thought about it at all. If you want to see pictures, my mom has tons of them, just ask her and she can show them to you. But anyway, now to the craziest week ever! Tuesday I woke up at  4 am  to get to my plane. That went to Barbados where I met up with Elder Ackley, my new zone leader. Then we flew to Martinique and just proselyted with the missionaries there for the day. I realized that my French is a lot worse than I thought. I can talk to people understandably, especially when I am talking about the Gospel, but I can't understand others hardly at all unless they talk really slow and repeat themselves multiple times. That day was fun though bec...

I'm Going to be a Dad

FROM HOLLY -- MCKADE SENT A VERY SHORT GROUP E-MAIL THIS WEEK SO I DECIDED TO INCLUDE THE E-MAIL HE SENT TO THE FAMILY ALSO.  YOU CAN TELL HE IS PRETTY EXCITED ABOUT HIS UPCOMING TRANSFER -- I DON'T THINK HIS MIND WAS TOTALLY ON HIS E-MAILS THIS WEEK! Cher famille, Well, last week I learned that mom has been praying that I'll have peace and safety on my mission, and dad prayed that I would face trails to learn and grow. I think dad must have prayed harder, because we got our transfer calls, and you won't believe it. Good news: I'm going to the french side on St. Martin! Bad news: I'm gonna be with a companion who has never been to that area before, so we will be "blanking" the area, which just means neither of us know the area at all. Oh, and did I mention that I'm training him too? Yeah, so I'm training a new missionary in an area I've never been before, speaking a language I don't hardly know. And I'm not even done with my own t...

FOOD!

FROM HOLLY -- McKade always sends a note to our family before his group e-mail and I thought you all might be interested in some of the things he shared with us this week.  He sent some great photos of the turtle sancturary, but we are having trouble downloading them, sorry.  We will update pictures for both blogs as soon as possible.   Cher famille, I had a thought I'd like to share, especially for mom and dad. I was thinking about how our prayers to God are kind of like my emails to you. You want to hear from me, as often and as much as you can. You want me to ask you stuff, and probably thank you for being so great. But that's not what you really want. You want to hear about me. You want to know what I'm doing, and how I'm doing. You want me to tell you how I am becoming more like Christ, and ask for your help when I'm confused on how to do that. You want me to tell you that I love you. Well, God wants all this same stuff from us in our prayers. Thanking hi...

More Work, More Fun.

Hello! Hi everyone, how are you? Just kidding, don't worry about responding, it's not like you were gonna email me back anyway.... Ok, that was awkward, let's move on now. The heading of my email has to do with the fact that I'm in a threesome now! Now I have Elder Jackson and Elder Zuniga with me! But we have two areas to cover now, so it is kind of tricky to meet with everyone we want to. But we are trying our best, and the Lord is helping us. Elder Zuniga is a funny guy though, and he can make Elder Jackson laugh so hard, so we have had some fun companion studies recently, haha. The funniest part is that Elder Zuniga isn't even trying to be funny half the time, which makes it even better.  I assume a lot of missionaries and people will be talking about conference for the next few weeks, and it was amazing and I loved it, but I wan't to write about a different experience I had this week. We were teaching Keda, the girl we baptized last week, about the...
